The Red Cord

Hebrews 11:31 names Rahab plainly — prostitute and all — and sets her raw, trembling faith in the hall beside patriarchs and kings. She believed the God of Israel was real, hid the spies, and tied the scarlet cord in her window, a red thread that runs all the way from the garden to the cross. God writes no one off. The invitation is to stop waiting until you feel worthy and tie the cord right where you are.

John 1:35-39 teaches us that pointing someone toward Jesus does not require having all the answers or delivering the perfect speech; sometimes the invitation is simply, “Come and see.” We can faithfully invite others to encounter Jesus for themselves, trusting Him to do what only He can do.
