Take Off Your Shoes

September 2, 2026

In Exodus 3:4-6, God calls Moses by name and then tells him to take off his sandals, because the dirt under his feet is holy ground. Nothing about the geography was sacred, with no temple and no ceremony to set it apart. What made it holy was the presence of God. Any ordinary place becomes holy ground when he shows up, and the right response is reverence rather than casual familiarity.

The Room Before the Fire

September 2, 2026

Acts 1:12-14 is the room before the doors open—Acts 2 gets the wind, the fire, the three thousand, but before that crowd there was an ordinary group praying constantly for ten days with nothing to show for it. If you only read Acts 2, revival becomes weather, something that either falls on you or doesn't; Acts 1 says it starts in a prayer meeting. And you don't have to be the most spiritual person you know to be in the room—you just have to be in the room.

Every Day Already Written

September 2, 2026

Psalm 139:16 says God has a book about your life—not to scare you, but to comfort you—where all your days were written before even one of them happened. Nothing about your future takes Him by surprise; He's not nervous about it, because He's already there waiting with a plan. It's like relaxing in the back seat because someone who loves you is driving and knows the way. You don't have to figure out the whole future—you just have to trust the One who already knows it.
