Ephesians 4:26-27 doesn't forbid anger; it warns us not to let anger settle in past sundown and give the devil a foothold. Anger is a visitor, but resentment is a tenant that keeps us clenched, bracing for a blow that has already landed and numbing our ability to love. The call is to open our hands, release the offense to God, and discover that open hands can hold what a fist never could.

Romans 8:31-32 answers the question the disciples shouted over the storm: does Jesus even care? When circumstances tempt us to fill in the blank about God’s heart, we can look to the cross, where He did not hold back His own Son, as proof that He has not stopped caring about us.

Isaiah 38:19-20 teaches us through Hezekiah that remembering God's faithfulness fills our hearts with thankfulness and gives us stories worth sharing with others.
