Think

Joshua 18:1-3, “The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The country was brought under their control, but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance. So, Joshua said to the Israelites: ‘How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?’”“What are you waiting for?” That was what Joshua was saying to the seven tribes of Israel who’d yet to take possession of the land. God had given them specific instructions to take the land He’d promised them. Why were they so hesitant? They had secured a miraculous victory over Jericho when the walls came crashing down at the sound of shouts and trumpets. They’d seen the sun stand still until they’d defeated five kings’ armies. Again, what were they waiting for?God’s timing is often different than ours. Sometimes He waits to answer our prayer and sometimes He answers and we discover we’re not quite ready to move! The time had come, and the Israelites hesitated. Was it fear? Was it complacency since they were used to living in temporary dwellings? Whatever it was, it was time to make a move! What answered prayer is waiting for you to “take the land”? Don’t give in to fear or apathy. Go for it! Trust that God is with you and that He’s fighting for you. It’s time to claim God’s promise! When you do, you will receive a wealth of blessing!

Pray

Dear Lord, Your timing is perfect. Help me break through my fear and complacency to claim Your promise, the answer to my prayers. Amen.
