Something New
Read
Psalm 98:1, “Sing a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; His holy arm has shown His saving power!”
Think
It’s true. Church can be boring. Boredom is a natural by-product of redundancy – doing the same thing over and over. And let’s be honest, without intentional interference, church ministry is redundant by nature. The same people, sitting in the same place, singing the same songs, listening to the same person teach, only to do it all over again next week. Yawn! The church should never be boring because the Bible is NOT boring. God’s Word is more relevant and exciting than anything on the planet. Jesus was NOT boring. To see Him as He is should inspire awe, not apathy. And most certainly, the church’s message is NOT boring. Jesus was dead, came back to life, and offers us the same opportunity — to cross over from death to life and to have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe! If you get bored in church, don’t blame God. Blame the presenters. The church should be the most creative entity on the planet. Because our creative Creator made us in His own image, we should be riding on the crest of creativity and not sitting on the beach of boredom. Creativity, the art of innovation, is the difference. Simply put, change it up and do something new. Sing a new song!

Pray
Dear God, Thank You for the gift of creativity. I want to ride the crest of creativity and never again be content to sit on the beach of boredom. Open my eyes to see the opportunities to put my God-given creativity to work in Your church. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
