Look Who’s Talking
Read:
Matthew 22:36-39, "'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Mark 16:15, "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'"
Think:
Holly picks flowers from her garden and takes a sweet note to her neighbor with an invite to church. Brad meets friends at the gym and talks to them about their health and personal lives, which leads to a spiritual conversation.
Many have heard the adage, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” The more you care, the more people will listen. Augustine, in the fifth century, described love this way: “It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.” Christians who grow in love, look more and more like Jesus. And when we show Christ’s love, it gives us the opportunity to tell about Christ’s love.
Act:
In what specific way today will you demonstrate the love of Jesus to someone else?
Pray:
Jesus, thank You for loving me when I was a sinner far away from You. Enable me to see people who need You. Help me see other like You see them. Amen.
