“I’ll Be Praying for You!”

How do we navigate today’s tumultuous times? Scripture gives us a glimpse of what is to come in the “end times.” This
glimpse is not meant to cause fear but to encourage and mobilize us to action. Today, we focus on our second priority within our “signs” acrostic:

S — Shift our focus to Jesus and His church.

I — Inspire us to pray for others.

As Christ-followers, we are called to pray for others – not just say that we will, but actually do it. Jesus was a man of prayer, and He wants us to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as for those who don’t know Him. The fact that we know people facing a very different eternity than us should create urgency in our hearts and inspire us to keep them in our daily prayers. The scary truth is that they’re on the wrong side of the levee, and one day, the levee will break, wreaking havoc and mass destruction.

But here’s what’s great: God hears every prayer! Whether it’s really brief, written, spoken in a group, or down on our knees — God is intently listening as Jesus intercedes on our behalf. All we have to do is pray in faith and believe God will answer. The Bible says that if we have faith the size of a tiny mustard seed, it can move mountains. So, have faith, keep praying, and be amazed at what God will do!

Act

The next time you say you’re going to pray for someone, ACTUALLY DO IT. This week, try journaling your prayers. One of the most incredible things is looking back and seeing all that God has done, often in surprising ways.

Dear God, Thank You for hearing my prayers. Bring to my mind those I know who don’t know You. Move in their hearts and give me the opportunity to share the hope I have in You. Amen.
