Daily Reading & Prayer

Happily Every After

March 20, 2022

Read

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Think

We love a happy ending. As children, we grow up reading books, and they live happily ever after. Why are we made that way? Because we’re made in the image of God, who is a forever being. We are hardwired. It’s His will for all of us to live together forever with Him. But we chose to do our own thing. Sin entered the world. So, we find ourselves either on the right side or the wrong side of the levee.

The Bible says that Jesus is coming back, over and over again. In fact, one third of the Bible talks about His return. We have a focus on forever. We are fascinated with eternity and forever. When you sum up all of prophecy, all the end times are summed up in two words. We win.

There are signs that the levees will break one day. So, there should be a sense of urgency in your life that we should regularly have people that we are inviting to church.

Act

Do you have a sense of urgency? Make a list of 3 people you can pray for and text them and ask them if there is anything specific you can pray for.

Pray

God, I pray for a sense of urgency. I pray that you will continue to work in my life. I surrender to you and ask this in Your name. Amen.
