Faith Forward

Read

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”Hebrews 11:7, “By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”

Think

We live in a “quit culture.” When we read about the benefits of staying committed to a plan or lifestyle, we often back away because it can sound like such a…well, a real commitment. We want quick, easy action steps to reach a goal. But what if the end goal is developing a lifelong pattern of commitment filled with a mix of certainty and surprises that produces unexplainable peace no matter the circumstance? Isn’t that worth it?Noah had never seen the ocean. In fact, he’d never even seen rain! Yet, for 120 years, he faithfully built the ark. That’s what unstoppable faith looks like! It’s navigating the unknown and being committed to the results, even if we can’t see them right away. Despite the sneers and jeers of others, he didn’t quit. Imagine if Noah had given up and never completed the job. What a devastating outcome that would have been!Commitment is key to living out a faith-forward life. At times, walking in faith feels like groping in the darkness, searching for the invisible. But, when we commit and refuse to quit, our faith grows stronger with each step. Commitment to faith can change the trajectory of our lives, our family, and our future. Like Noah, we might not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future!

Pray

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the peace that only You can bring. Help me to listen first and then act in accordance with Your direction. Give me the courage and perseverance to commit to living a faith-forward life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
