Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Looking forward to this fresh decade, we have 3,650 days before us. We faced this same challenge ten years ago. If we are the sum total of our choices, where did your choices lead you in the last decade? Will those same choices take you where you want to be ten years from now? Probably not.Jesus said to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. This means consciously putting God first in every area of our lives every day, every week for the next ten years. No matter where we are, at home or work or play, we place God first in everything we say and we do.As you take your first steps into this new decade, why not choose to take God out of the “Sunday morning box” where it seems easy to trust Him with your life. Give Him Monday through Saturday as well. Let God be first in every area of your life and it will be a certainty that your next 3,650 will be far different than the last.

Act

Make a list of the choices you've made this past decade that you know aren't in line with God's best for your life. Next to each wrong choice, write the right choice you will pursue this decade!

Pray

Dear God, I know that putting You first in everything I say and do the is key to having a successful decade. I choose to seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness today and each day to come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
