Day 1
Story: A young couple, Mary and Joseph, get engaged.
Luke 1:27
Activity: Start the season with something warm and joyful! Gather with your family and Bible Buddy for a cozy cup of hot chocolate; extra marshmallows encouraged! With your hot chocolate in hand, go around and share your favorite Christmas tradition, the one you absolutely don’t want to miss doing together this year.
Day 2
Story: One day, God sends the angel Gabriel to Mary. Gabriel has some very special news!
Luke 1:28
Activity: Turn your hallway into a Christmas wonderland! Pick your favorite wrapping paper and transform your bedroom door into a festive masterpiece. Add a Christmas sign—sweet, silly, or sparkly—to complete the look.
Day 3
Story: Mary is greatly troubled when she hears the angel’s greeting.
Luke 1:29
Activity: Bundle up, grab your Bible Buddy, and hop in the car for a magical Christmas lights cruise! Drive through your neighborhood and enjoy the sparkle, glow, and glitter of every decoration you find. Make it extra fun—pick your favorite house, count how many nativity scenes you spot, or play Christmas music as you ride.
Day 4
Story: Gabriel tells Mary to not be afraid and that God is happy with her!
Luke 1:30
Activity: Gather for a moment of holiday cheer and encouragement! Take turns sharing three kind things about each person in your family—and don’t forget to include your Bible Buddy in the fun. Make it joyful: speak life, share laughter, and celebrate what makes each person special.
Day 5
Story: Gabriel tells Mary the special news: She will have a baby boy, and the baby will be named Jesus.
Luke 1:31
Activity: Grab your Bible Buddy, gather a few small blankets, and get ready for a giggle-filled Christmas challenge! Look up how to swaddle a baby, then let everyone give it a try—Bible Buddy included. Once everyone’s done, hold a friendly “Best Swaddle” contest. Is it the coziest? The neatest? The most Christmas-ready?
Day 6
Story: Gabriel shares more details of God’s plans with Mary: “Jesus will be great and will be called God’s very own son!”
Luke 1:32-33
Activity: Break out the construction paper and create your very own Christmas crowns! Decorate them with stickers, glitter, markers—anything that adds sparkle and joy. Then place a tiny crown on your Bible Buddy so they can join the royal celebration too! As everyone wears their creations, talk about how Jesus is our King and what it means that He is God’s Son—the greatest gift we celebrate at Christmas. End with a “royal family” photo for extra fun!
Day 7
Story: Mary doesn’t understand how she can have a baby without being married, but the angel, Gabriel, assures her of a great truth: Nothing is impossible with God.
Luke 1:34-35
Activity: Whip up Christmas cookies, gingerbread houses, or any festive goodies you love! Let everyone join in on the decorating fun—and don’t forget to snap a picture of your Bible Buddy “helping” make the treats.

Day 8
Story: “I serve God with my life and want all that you have said to happen,” Mary tells the angel, and he leaves.
Luke 1:36
Activity: Hide candy canes all around the house, then let the family loose on a merry little candy cane hunt! See who can find the most—and enjoy a sweet, festive victory together!
Day 9
Story: Mary visits her cousin, Elizabeth, and is so overwhelmed with God’s goodness, she sings a song of praise.
Luke 1:39-55
Activity: Have a family praise party! Turn on your favorite Christmas worship songs, sing together, and thank God for the good things He’s done this year. Each person can share one thing they’re thankful for while your Bible Buddy “dances” along!
Day 10
Story: Caesar Augustus wants to know how many people are in his empire, so he tells all the people to go back to their hometowns to be registered and counted.
Luke 2:1-3
Activity: Count everyone in your home—people, pets, and Bible Buddies included! Make a simple, cheerful chart or drawing with everyone’s names and their favorite Christmas activity. Finish the night by thanking God for each person and the joy they bring.
Day 11
Story: Joseph brings Mary, who is pregnant, to his hometown and Bethlehem to be counted.
Luke 2:4-5
Activity: Have a “Journey to Bethlehem” night! Build a cozy fort or tent in your living room using blankets and pillows to imagine what Mary and Joseph’s trip might have been like. Bring your Bible Buddy inside and talk about how God was with them every step of the way; just like He is with you!
Day 12
Story: While Joseph and Mary are in Bethlehem, the time comes for the baby to be born.
Luke 2:6
Activity: Gather baby items (a blanket, stuffed animal, pacifier, etc.) and set up a small “manger scene.” Imagine the excitement Mary and Joseph must have felt knowing the Savior was on the way, and celebrate the joy of Christmas together!
Day 13
Story: Mary gives birth to Jesus, wraps Him in swaddling cloths, and lays Him in a manger because there is no room for them anywhere else.
Luke 2:7
Activity: Turn a small box, basket, or shoebox into a cozy manger and fill it with paper “hay.” Each time someone in your family does something kind, add a piece of hay—making a soft, warm bed for baby Jesus. Watch your manger grow fuller as Christmas Day gets closer!
Day 14
Story: At night in a nearby field, shepherds are watching their flocks.
Luke 2:8
Activity: Take turns being “shepherds” and “sheep!” Shepherds watch over the wandering sheep while the sheep quietly roam. Then switch roles and giggle through the fun! Afterward, talk about how God watches over us, just like the shepherds cared for their flocks—spreading His love and protection this Christmas season.

Story: The sky lights up — God has sent an angel to the shepherds to tell them the good news of Jesus’ birth.

Day 17
Story: The angel tried to calm the shepherds!

Activity: Use Google Maps to explore the modern-day streets of Bethlehem. Imagine what it might have looked and felt like the night Jesus was born—the quiet, the stars, the excitement! Then, think about what makes your town special and how you can share Christmas joy right where you live.
Day 18
Story: The angel proclaims the good news of the Savior!
Luke 2:11
Activity: Celebrate the good news with a joyful Christmas game night! Invite your Bible Buddy to join the fun as you play festive trivia, bingo, or charades. Between games, share one reason you’re thankful Jesus came to be our Savior. Laugh, cheer, and celebrate the true gift of Christmas together!
Day 19
Story: The angel explains what the shepherds will find.
Luke 2:12
Activity: Spread the joy of Jesus’ birth! Call or FaceTime a family member or friend and sing your favorite Christmas carol together. Share laughs, smiles, and the joy of the season!
Day 20
Story: More angels come to celebrate the good news — they arrive at the shepherd’s field and begin praising God.
Luke 2:3–14
Activity: Kick off the day with a joyful Christmas breakfast! Make pancakes, waffles, or cinnamon rolls together and pile on festive toppings — sprinkles, whipped cream, and chocolate chips encouraged! As you enjoy your sweet creations, take turns praising God aloud for the gift of Jesus, just like the angels sang in the sky.
Day 21
Story: The shepherds leave their flocks and hurry to find Mary, Joseph, and the baby who is lying in a manger.
Luke 2:15–16
Activity: Transform your living room or backyard into Bethlehem for a playful shepherd adventure! Climb “hills” (pillows), cross “streams” (taped lines), and weave through “flocks” (stuffed animals) on your way to the “manger.” Celebrate when you reach the finish line, where your Bible Buddy — or a “baby Jesus” baby — is waiting to welcome you!

Day 22
Story: After they see the baby, the shepherds excitedly go and tell the good news to everyone they see!
Luke 2:17–18
Activity: Grab noisemakers, bells, or even spoons and pots from the kitchen and march around your house or yard in a joyful mini parade! Shout “Jesus is born!” just like the shepherds did, and celebrate the amazing good news with cheer, music, and Christmas excitement!
Day 23
Story: The shepherds return to their flocks, praising God for all they have seen and heard.
Luke 2:20
Activity: Gather around the Christmas tree for a cozy game night! Play your favorite games, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Between turns, share what you’re thankful for this season or a favorite part about Jesus’ birth.
Day 24
Story: Mary names the baby Jesus, just as the angel told her to do.
Luke 2:21b
Activity: Did you know the name Jesus means “the Lord is salvation?” Take a fun moment to share what your name means and what your Bible Buddy’s name means too! Celebrate the special meaning behind every name and the greatest gift of all, Jesus.
Day 25
Story: God has sent Jesus to rescue us because God loves us so very much!
Luke 1:26–2:21
Activity: Gather the whole family, and your Bible Buddy, for a joyful Christmas morning! Read the Christmas story from Luke 1–2 together, sing your favorite carols, and fill the room with music and laughter. Take turns sharing one thing you love about Jesus and how His birth brings joy to the world. Celebrate the true gift of Christmas with hearts full of love and cheer!
