Small Steps, Real Change: Sustainable Spiritual Growth
Dear Sister,
As a new year begins, many of us feel pressure to set big spiritual goals. While these desires come from a sincere longing to grow closer to God, they can also feel overwhelming and hard to sustain. When our focus shifts to performance, we can easily forget that God is more interested in our hearts than our checklists.
God Desires Your Heart, Not Perfection
But God doesn't ask us to grow all at once. Often, real change begins with small, faithful steps. A few quiet minutes in prayer. One verse read slowly and thoughtfully. A simple act of trust or obedience in the middle of an ordinary day. These moments may seem small, even insignificant, but when they are offered to God, He uses them to bring lasting transformation. Nothing given to Him is ever wasted.
The Power of Small Beginnings in Faith
Scripture reminds us: "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin." (Zechariah 4:10)
Jesus also reminds us that faith as small as a mustard seed can grow into something strong and life-giving. Spiritual growth isn't about perfection or performance—it's about consistency, surrender, and trust.
