Set the Tone in the First Week of School

The first week of school matters more than you think, especially for younger kids. New classroom. New teacher. New routine. There's excitement, but also uncertainty — and in this stage, your role is huge.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6). That starts now. Here's how to lead well in week one.

Create Simple, Predictable Rhythms

A morning routine. A bedtime routine. Consistency creates security.

Speak Confidence Into Them

"You can do this." "God is with you." Your words shape how they walk into school.

Stay Calm Through the Emotions

There may be tears — and that's okay. Your calm presence helps them regulate theirs.

Each morning this week, tell your child, "God is with you, and you're going to do great today." Repeat it daily. Because confidence is built through consistency.
