Make Sure Your Kids Actually Understand Easter

Easter can get confusing for kids. One minute it's about Jesus. The next it's eggs, candy, and a bunny. And if you're not intentional, kids can walk away remembering the sugar rush but missing the Savior.

The Bible keeps Easter simple: Christ died for our sins... he was buried... he was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). That's the message. As a parent, your job isn't to complicate it — it's to clarify it. Because if your kids don't understand it, they can't build their lives on it. Here's how to make Easter clear.

Say It Simply

"Jesus died for us, and He came back to life so we can be with Him forever." Clear beats clever every time.

Separate Truth from Tradition

Egg hunts are fun, but they're not the focus. Make sure your child knows what Easter is really about.

Ask, Don't Assume

Ask, "Why do we celebrate Easter?" Their answer will show you what they actually understand.

You don't need a theology degree to disciple your kids — you just need clarity and consistency. Today, take sixty seconds and say to your child, "Jesus died for us, and He came back to life so we can know Him forever," then ask, "Does that make sense to you?" One simple conversation can build a lifelong foundation.
