Easter Isn't a Day, It's a Decision: Living the Resurrection at Home
Easter shows up, and just like that, it's gone. The outfits, the photos, the services, the egg hunts. It's meaningful — but if you're not careful, it becomes just another moment on the calendar. And Easter was never meant to be a moment. It was meant to be a movement.
Scripture calls us to offer our lives daily, ongoing and consistent: offer your bodies as a living sacrifice... do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:1-2). That's resurrection living. Because Jesus didn't just rise for you — He rose to live through you.
So the question isn't, "Did we celebrate Easter?" The question is, "Is Easter changing how we live?" As a parent, you set that tone. We don't just believe the resurrection — we live it out in real time. Here are three ways to do that this week.
Say Something Spiritual Every Day
It doesn't have to be deep — just consistent. At dinner: "What's one thing God did for you today?" In the car: "Where did you see God show up?"
Show Grace on Purpose
When your child messes up — and they will — pause. Respond with patience instead of reacting quickly. That's what resurrection life looks like: grace over judgment.
Keep Easter in the Conversation
Bring it back up this week. "Why do you think Easter matters?" Repetition builds roots.
Before bed tonight, ask your child, "What do you think it means that Jesus is alive?" Then listen. Don't rush. Don't correct. Just connect. The resurrection isn't only something we celebrate — it's something we carry.
