Be Where Your Feet Are: The Power of Showing Up Present

At this age, your kids don't just want your help. They want you. But it's easy to be physically present and mentally somewhere else. You're in the room, but on your phone. Listening, but distracted. There, but not really there. And your kids can feel that.

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him (Psalm 127:3). They're not interruptions — they're the assignment. And at this stage, attention is everything. Here's how to be more present this week.

Get on Their Level

Sit with them. Play with them. Make eye contact. Presence is spelled T-I-M-E.

Remove One Major Distraction

Put your phone away during one key moment each day. Attention requires intention.

Follow Their Lead

Let them choose the game, the conversation, the activity. Connection grows when they feel seen.

Today, spend ten uninterrupted minutes with your child. No phone. No multitasking. Just play, talk, or sit with them. It may feel small to you, but it's huge to them.
