Rooted, Not Rushed: A Word for Every New Season
Dear Sister,
Every new season often comes with a loud message: do more, be better, fix everything—fast. We're surrounded by pressure to set goals, improve ourselves, and rush ahead before we've even had time to breathe. The world urges us to measure our worth by productivity and progress, often leaving us weary before the season has truly begun.
God's Invitation to Rest
But God invites us into something different.
Instead of entering each new season hurried and overwhelmed, He calls us to begin rooted—grounded in His truth, His presence, and His love. Before we strive, He asks us to rest. Before we plan, He reminds us who we are. He meets us not in our striving, but in our stillness, gently drawing our hearts back to Him.
Scripture reminds us of this truth:
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." (Colossians 2:6–7)
What It Means to Be Rooted in Christ
When we are rooted in Christ, our lives bear good fruit—not because we force it, but because we are connected to Him. When our roots go deep, we don't have to fear the pace of the world around us or the uncertainty ahead. Storms may come and seasons may change, but what is firmly rooted remains steady and nourished.
3 Questions for a Slower Pace
As you enter this season, we encourage you to slow down and ask:
- Where am I rooted right now?
- What voices am I listening to?
- Am I living from pressure, or from God's peace?
Consider making space this season for quiet moments with the Lord—through prayer and Scripture in your daily devotional, worship, or simply sitting in His presence. These small, faithful rhythms help our roots grow deeper, anchoring us in truth when life feels noisy or demanding.
Walking Together in Sisterhood
You don't need to become someone new right now. In Christ, you are already loved, chosen, and enough. This season isn't about rushing to improve yourself—it's about remembering whose you are and allowing Him to shape you from the inside out.
Let's walk through this season together through Fellowship Church Sisterhood—not rushed or driven by expectations, but rooted in Him, trusting that He will lead us one step at a time. If you're looking for a place to connect with other women on this journey, find a Sisterhood community near you or join a women's Connect Group to go deeper together.
