Building Faith at Home: Walking with Jesus Every Day

We want you to hear this first: faith doesn’t have to be complicated—and it doesn’t have to be done alone. In the middle of busy days, spilled snacks, and bedtime routines, God is always at work. He often uses the simplest moments to grow faith in your child.

Faith for Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers

If you’ve ever wondered what building faith is supposed to look like with a baby, toddler, or preschooler, you’re not alone. Faith at this age isn’t about having all the answers or teaching long lessons. It’s found in everyday moments—moments you’re already living. A short prayer before bed, thanking God for your day at the dinner table, or whispering “Jesus loves you” during a hard moment all help lay a strong foundation.

Simple Rhythms for Spiritual Growth

One of the easiest ways to grow faith is by talking about God naturally throughout the day. You can point out God’s creation on a walk, thank Him for food before meals, or remind your child that God helps us when we’re sad or scared. These simple conversations show your child that God is part of our everyday life.

Pray Together Regularly

Another powerful practice is praying together regularly. Keep prayers short and simple. Let your child repeat a phrase like, “Thank you, God,” or name one thing they are grateful for. Over time, prayer becomes familiar and your child understands that talking with Jesus is part of our everyday life.

Sing Worship Songs

Singing worship songs is another easy way to build faith. Play songs your child hears at church while driving or during playtime. Music helps children remember God’s truths long before they understand it fully.

Reinforce What They Learn at Church

You can also reinforce what your child learns at church. On the way home, ask a simple question like, “What did you learn today?”. Each Sunday FC Kids sends home a summary sheet of what your child learned with an activity that you do at home. There is also a monthly Bible verse your child can learn and recite the last Sunday of the month for kid credits.

Partnering with FC Kids

As you step into this new year, we invite you to choose just one or two simple rhythms that fit your family. Faith grows best through consistency, not perfection. And remember, FC Kids is cheering you on, praying for you, and partnering with you as your child grows in faith—one simple moment at a time.
