The String

October 24, 2026

Psalm 119:45 links freedom to seeking out God's precepts, not escaping them. Like the string that lets a kite fly, God's boundaries look like restrictions but are what give life lift and direction; cut the string and the kite crashes. His commands are protective, not punitive, and the invitation is to stop resisting a boundary and discover the freedom on the other side of obedience.

The Story They Paid For

October 24, 2026

Matthew 28:11-15 teaches us that even when people tried to explain away Jesus’ resurrection through a fabricated story, the empty tomb remained a powerful part of the evidence for His victory over death. Instead of accepting every explanation we hear, we can examine the evidence with honesty, grow in confidence in the risen Jesus, and boldly share the truth of His resurrection.

The Jar That Never Ran Out

October 24, 2026

1 Kings 17:15-16 teaches us that God faithfully keeps His promises and provides what we need, just as He gave the widow and her family enough food each day. We can thank Him for today’s blessings and trust Him to care for us tomorrow, remembering that God’s got it every single day.

Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted

Matthew 5:10 reminds us that those who are persecuted for living faithfully and righteously are blessed, because their suffering reflects a deeper allegiance to God's kingdom and not this world. When rejection or loss comes from standing for Christ, it's not in vain—Heaven sees it, honors it, and promises eternal reward.

Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Matthew 5:9 reminds us that true peacemakers reflect the heart of God, not by avoiding conflict, but by stepping into it with grace, truth, and a willingness to love sacrificially. In a divided world, we’re called to be bridge-builders who bring Christ into the chaos, choosing reconciliation over pride and healing over hostility.

Blessed Are the Merciful

Matthew 5:7 reminds us that those who extend mercy to others will themselves receive mercy, calling us to resist the urge for revenge and instead respond to wrongs with the grace and compassion we've been shown by God. In a world that rewards payback, Jesus invites us to reflect His heart by forgiving, letting go, and loving beyond what’s deserved.

Blessed Are Those Who Hunger and Thirst For Righteousness

Matthew 5:6 reminds us that true fulfillment comes not from chasing worldly distractions, but from a deep, soul-level hunger for righteousness—a desire to know God, live in His truth, and be transformed by Him. When we seek Him first, Jesus promises we will be filled with lasting peace, joy, and purpose.

Blessed Are the Meek

Matthew 5:5 reminds us that true strength lies in meekness—choosing humility, self-control, and trust in God over asserting dominance—because in surrender, we find lasting inheritance and peace. Jesus calls us to lay down the need to control and instead live with quiet confidence in His power and timing.

Blessed Are the Poor In Spirit

Matthew 5:3 reminds us that true blessing comes not from self-sufficiency but from recognizing our spiritual need, for it’s in our emptiness that we become open to the fullness of God’s grace and the riches of His kingdom.
