Matthew 6:31-32 "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them."

Think

Picture this. You walk into the kitchen and before you can even say a word, your mom hands you a glass of water. You were thirsty, and somehow she already knew.

That is a tiny picture of something Jesus taught. He said your Heavenly Father already knows what you need. You do not have to beg. You do not have to panic. He knows.

In Jesus' time, a lot of people spent all their energy chasing after stuff. “What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” They ran around worried all day long, like a puppy chasing its own tail. Round and round, never catching anything, just getting dizzy.

Jesus said you do not have to live like that. Why? Because you have a Father in heaven who already knows exactly what you need. Before you even ask him, he knows.

Think about starting a new school year. Maybe you need a friend. Maybe you need to feel brave when you walk into a room full of new kids. Maybe you need help understanding math that feels really hard.

Guess what? God already knows every single one of those needs. He is not surprised by your first day. He is not caught off guard by the hard stuff. He saw it coming, and he is already working on it.

This does not mean you never ask God for things. You should talk to him about everything. But it means you can ask him like a kid talking to a good dad, not like someone who is scared he might forget. Think about how a little kid at the dinner table does not lie awake worried about whether there will be breakfast tomorrow. They just trust that the grownups have it handled. That is how God wants you to feel with him. He will not forget.

You can breathe. Your Father knows. When you walk into that new classroom, he already knows what is waiting there, and he has already gone ahead of you. And a God who knows exactly what you need is a God you can trust with your whole day.

Apply

Tell God one need – Think of one thing you really need this week for school. Tell God about it and then remind yourself that he already knew before you even said it. He is already helping.

Pray

God, it is amazing that you already know what I need before I even ask. Thank you that you are not surprised by anything in my week. Help me trust you like a kid trusts a good dad. In Jesus' name. Amen.
