This week we learned how to read the Bible. We saw that God’s words are like daily bread that feeds our hearts. We learned that the Bible is God-breathed and full of tools for real life. And we found out that small and steady reading, day after day, makes us strong. Today we come back to our memory verse and connect it all.

Our verse says the sheep listen to the shepherd’s voice. Now think about where you can hear that voice most clearly. In the Bible. When you read Scripture, you are listening to the exact voice this verse is talking about.

That is why learning to read the Bible matters so much. It is not just about reading an old book. It is about hearing your shepherd. Every time you open it, the good shepherd is speaking, and you are one of the sheep who gets to listen.

This verse also says he knows his sheep. Here is something wonderful. The more you read the Bible, the more you get to know God, but it works the other way too. You are getting to know the One who already knows you completely. It becomes a real friendship.

And then, they follow me. Reading the Bible is never just about filling your head. It leads your feet. When you know the shepherd’s voice from his words, you can follow him through your whole day, at school, at home, everywhere.

So keep this verse close as you keep reading. Listen to his voice in the Bible. Remember he knows you. And let his words lead you to follow him. That is what the whole week has been pointing to.

Here is one more thing to carry with you. The words you read this week will not disappear. They stay with you, tucked into your heart, ready for the moments ahead. That is the amazing thing about God’s words. Once they get inside you, they stay, and they keep speaking long after you close the book.

Say it and mean it – Say this month’s memory verse out loud again today. This time, after you say it, add, “And I can hear your voice when I read the Bible.” Let that sink in.

Jesus, thank you that I can hear your voice when I read the Bible. Help me listen, remember that you know me, and follow you every day. Make your words a lamp for my feet. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
