The Waiting Room
Read
Psalm 130:5, 7, “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His Word, I put my hope … for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption.”Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Think
Do you sometimes feel like you are stuck in the waiting room of life? You have goals and desires — a spouse, children, your own business, a degree — but you aren't "there" yet, and the journey is exhausting.Within the waiting, it’s tempting to look to other people, places, or things for temporary satisfaction. Sadly, they can often make the journey even longer. But if we put our hope and faith in God and His plan for our lives, even when we don't feel it or see it, we can find peace in knowing that He's preparing us now for what He's prepared for us in the future. There's transformation happening that's necessary to take that next big step.No matter what your waiting room is, let today's verse encourage you. God knows it isn't easy, but He meets you where you are, as you are, with His unfailing love. He will use the challenges of today to prepare you for victory tomorrow!
Act
Take a moment to reflect on your waiting room. Be honest with God about how you feel (He knows anyway). Then, write down today’s verses along with Isaiah 40:31. Begin to familiarize yourself with these key scriptures with the goal of memorization. They will bring you comfort when you get discouraged or impatient within the waiting.
Pray
God, Thank You for always working in my life — even when I can’t see or feel it. I believe Your promises are true and know that You have a plan and purpose for me. Help me to trust in Your timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
