The Greatest Love Story of All Time

February 28, 2022

Read

Romans 8:35, 37, 39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us … Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Isaiah 41:10, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious right hand.”

Think

When Jesus rose from the dead, He declared His authority over death. He defeated OUR darkness and, because of this victory, we can, too! And it’s not because we’re able to get a grip on darkness and figure it out. No, it’s because God has a grip on us.

So, if God has this impenetrable grip on us, where is He when terrible things happen? Because, unfortunately, our faith doesn’t preclude us from pain or tragedy. This is our assurance: Nothing can separate us from God’s love! The same God who knit us together in our mother’s womb with care, precision, and a great purpose in mind, is ALWAYS with us, strengthening us by His almighty power and bolstering us to face the unthinkable. There’s absolutely NOTHING that could cause Him to love us any less!

When we get this — the miraculous nature of the unfailing, unchanging, and unyielding love of our Heavenly Father — we can like, and even love, a one-of-a-kind, unique masterpiece — ourselves.

It’s the greatest love story of all time, and nothing can separate you from it!

Act

Write down ten things you are thankful for, being as specific as possible. Use this list as a catalyst to praise God specifically for how much He cares for and loves you!

Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for keeping every promise, for never loosening Your grip on my life. I know that I’m steadied and anchored by Your unstoppable love. I will lean on You in the darkness, just as I would in the light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
